This very personal story was 8 years in the making for the burgeoning director and storyteller Ellie Kimaro. She came to me with a wonderful proposition; help her tell the story of her young fathers confrontation and exodus from his Tanzanian village. Working with Ellie and her team in Seattle: Eric Firth - Editor, Terri Bassett - Animator; we created several key moments of storytelling that brought the narration to life.
Ellie's mother worked for the World Bank and her father worked for the IMF, each with a different style and approach to developing countries. Fitting with their retelling of these contrasting styles I created a suitcase fitted out with all the things needed when traveling.
